booking essential at imprevistodanza@gmail.com During his session we explore somatic movement and dance practice. We work with body-mind approaches to sense one’s inner movement; focus on nourishing our connection with oneself, our creative potential and its expression to let our souls and bodies to express through movement and voice. SOMATIC is the ability of the human being to perceive through sensations that occur inside his/her body. Soma (from Greek: body) is the living body; breathing, moving, sensitive and perceived body. From its potential the moving body becomes an instrument of knowledge. Monica is a dance artist, performer, teacher and maker working in the UK and internationally. She has trained as a dancer and theatre performer. Monica continually deepens her knowledge of the body, movement, voice, rhythm, and performance. She is interested in research, experimentation, and the fusion of cultures and traditions through theatre practice. She studied Contact Improvisation and Dance Improvisation with Nancy Stark Smith, Kirstie Simson, Andrew Harwood, Martin Keogh, Merav Israel. " .. and I have learned from all the wonderful people I met in my dances". She is training in Somatic Movement Education within the The School for BODY-MIND CENTERING® .
