Description:
Daily meditation was one of the core values at the heart of the founding of The Salisbury Centre, over 40 years ago. Today we still maintain this practice as a means of personal spiritual development but also as a service to our community. Our daily meditation is nondenominational and accessible to all; no experience is needed. We join in 30 minutes of silence and you may sit in any way you find comfortable. Chairs, cushions, stools and blankets are provided. Every weekday (Monday through Friday) at 08:00 AM and 17:30 PM. Please arrive 5 minutes before the start time. There is no need to book; just drop by when you can. Free of charge!

Description:
Wednesday meditation evenings Meditation practice, with sitting and walking meditation and shamata yoga (no kit required). Individual meditation instruction is available by arrangement. Everyone welcome, just come along! We meet every Wednesday evening at 6:45pm for meditation, simple yoga, talks and discussion. Several times a year we will offer an evening course of five classes, or a weekend workshop lasting one or two days. We start with a session of meditation, then a brief walking meditation or shamatha yoga. We may have a talk by one of our resident teachers, by a visiting teacher, listen to a DVD or other recording, do a contemplation, read a book chapter or have a discussion. We end with tea and biscuits. Meditation instruction is available from one of our trained meditation instructors (Rod or Angie) by previous arrangement - either meeting before the main session, or at the same time if space is available in one of the other rooms. We do not charge for the meditation sessions or instruction, but welcome a donation to cover the cost of renting the space (this usually works out at around £2-5 per person)
